What is Backflow?

I suppose this word could have some “tongue in cheek” meanings.  For our purposes, Backflow is a term in plumbing for an unwanted flow of water in the reverse direction.  The problem is that it can be a serious health risk for the contamination of drinking water supplies with foul water.  That should get your attention!

Backflow occurs for one of two reasons.  It will be either back pressure or back siphonage.
Back pressure is the result of a higher pressure in the system than in its supply.  Back siphonage is defined as the result of supply pressure being lowered below that of the system. This may occur when a supply is interrupted or drained down.

Whatever the reason, backflow needs to be immediately addressed.  It will turn your home’s good water into bad…not fit for consumption.  When this occurs, residents of the Columbus Ohio area call backflow repair expert, Brent Staats.  Brent and his team at Staats Plumbing will correct the problem ASAP.  Call them today at (740) 625-5284.

Kaboom!

Sorry about that, I was just installing my own indoor gas line.  Please, make sure that you call a professional when you need an indoor gas line installed.  The results could be devastating!  Even if you do it right the first time are you certain that there won’t be gas leaks down the road?  Take a look at some of the steps before you decide if it is a DIY job.

1.  Identify the main gas supply and where you are setting the appliance.
2.  Find the right Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing (CSST).
3.  Locate the flexible line between point A and point B.
4.  Turn on the valve and see if you did it right.

I don’t know about you, but I want someone who has done this dozens of times to mess around with the gas line in my home.  That someone is Brent Staats and his team at Staats Plumbing.  They are your Columbus Ohio experts at installing gas appliances in your castle.  This is NOT a DIY task.  Call Brent today at (740) 625-5284.
